What are risks of low blood pressure?does low blood pressure means no blockages? Can Artery clearance threapy?

age:41,male weight 185 lbs ht 5'8",no history of cardiac disease, moderately active life style

Low blood pressure can be absolutely normal. If you have never been told your blood pressure is low before, it can still be normal if you are not experiencing lightheadedness or dizziness. Low blood pressure does not guarantee you have no blockages, however. You can still have heart disease if you smoke, have high cholesterol, or have a family history of heart disease. Just being male can put you at risk.

Don't know what you mean by artery clearance therapy, but if you have high cholesterol (that can clog arteries), it is best to consult with a doctor. Changing your diet can reduce cholesterol somewhat (reduce red meat, saturated fat, and eat more fruits and vegetables), but some people require medication. Over the counter nutritionals that can help include niacin, omega three fish oils, and fiber.

It depends. What is your BP? Do you suffer fainting spells or dizziness when standing up? Are you generally healthy? What has your doctor said?

HAVE YOU ALWAYS HAD LOW BP OR IS IT A NEW FINDING???

The first thing to do is to go to your local GP and get some answers! Otherwise you will be worried, and perhaps unnecessarily! Now, the next thing to do, is [and this is what I did] go to your local library, and get into some information via books relating to this subject. Its a fantastic way to find out details, and some of those details may help you to `get on top' of it on some levels, for yourself! There's no time like the present to get in control of this! Go for it, and good luck.

not enough info to be able to give u a good answer, however if your systoli( top number ) is below 90 ot the mean (average constant pressure ) below 60 then is too low we need a minimal pressure in our body to be able to perfuse all our organs properly specially our kidneys, and brain. p.s. just cause u have no hx of hypertension doesn't mean u cant have it or get it because family hx plays a big role in heart disease unfortunately.low pressure does not mean no blockages. dont know what u mean by artery clearance theraphy. to keep arteries clean exercise and proper diet. in any event always SEE YOUR DOCTOR if u are concerned,
