Can victim of cardiac arrest keep breathing while their heart stopped? |
a victim was beathing (irregularly) - does this mean their heart was active as well? what kind of activity could that be (VF, VT, asistole)? If you are breathing your heart is beating. If your heart is beating doesn't mean you are breathing. Once they get your heart started many times they must preform rescue breathes to get your lungs going. No. You cant breathe if you heart is stopped (arrest) You can have V-tach and still be breathing, but depending on the rate of the v-tach, you most likely would not have a breathing person either. V-fib and asystole you would not have a breathing person either. I would guess the person was in v-tach but not a very fast rate so that they were still pumping some blood out to the noggin,,,,,,,, |
