What can one do to prevent the onset of cardiac arrest after becoming dizzy and feeling backneck aching?

have the patient chew two "aspirine" nothing else will do! make sure the aspirine disolves in his mouth.Call 911 immediatly! Sure you can get the patient there faster but paramedics are equipped with defibrillaters and medications should the patient go asystole .After you call 911.Remove any clothing obstructing the patients chest.Remain calm! Should the patient go into cardiac.... Check to see if he or she is breathing and has a heartbeat! Should he/she not..start CPR! Should you not know CPR the 911 operator will walk you through it!

Sweetie there is nothing you can do to prevent the onset of cardiac arrest!Have the patient talk to his doctor about starting an aspirine regimen.Itn studies it is proven to be a good preventitive measure.Aspirine thins the blood .. but you should always discuss this with the doc.Normally the doc will prescribe medications.. to thin the blood. If you do not know first aid or CPR.Your local Red Cross should have resources for training!.
Please do not!! I repeat do not!! Ignore back neck pain,Jaw pain, numbness, tingly feelings, heartburn, etc.I wouldnt worry about dizziness or aching.. those rarely lead to heart attack.

Why would you be going into cardiac arrest in the first place?

oh, i don't know... maybe get myself to a ******* hospital.

unless, of course i was an idiot. in which case, i'd post a question on yahoo! answers and wait to see what other people think i should do.

Don't know what those two have in common, but common sense is that whenever one is dizzy, get to a postion where you don't get hurt. Lay down, put you feet higher than your head if you need to. But, if you feel dizzy cause you're in pain, take care of your pain.

Errr think the hospital is the best place for you.

I had an email sent to me from a friend via the british heart foundation, if you find yourself in a cardian arrest start coughing vigorously - take deep breaths and prolong the cough and repeat every 2 seconds or so to keep the heart and blood circulating as the cough squeezes the heart to keep it beating, keep doign this until your feel your heart back in rhythm or until help arrives...........

Well, becoming dizzy and aching rarely become cardiac arrest.
Generally, if it's some sort of ventricular fibrilliation, you need to get to a defibrilator asap.
if the heart is in asystole (total cessation of electrical activity in heart) you need to do CPR while you wait for ambulance.
Either way, chances are very slim for survival.

you cannot prevent cardiac arrest, people have become dizzy and have neck pain anywhere anytime.it is not uncommon
