Is there any truth that the Vagal Nerve Stimulation device may cause cardiac arrest/?

Vagal stimulation does slow the heart. I do not know the device to which you refer, but I would not use a device for that purpose. No point in it.

Yes. That is why many elder folk have heart attacks while on the toilet. Thier heart slow down too much, stop getting enough oxygen, and thier older hearts can't take it.

Device? I have never heard of this device, and why would such a thing exist? Jump in an ice cold or just very cold pool of water, and note that your heart rate slows; "bear down" as though attempting a bowel movement and the same occurs. Vagal nerve stimulation slows conduction through the atrioventicular node of your heart, causing bradychardia...hypotension. Yes, it can be very dangerous in some persons, with results ranging from syncope (fainting) to sudden cardiac arrest. Medics often find a patient in full arrest, (dead), sitting on the 'ol toilet....perhaps due in part to Vagal Nerve influence.
