Explain postpanoxic encephalopathy and multiorgasmic dysfunction provoked by the cardiac arrest.?

I want to understand how the soccer player died, since he was about my age. Any medical professionals care to explain?

I believe what that means is that his brain (encephalopathy) ceased to function properly due to a lack of oxygen when his heart stopped beating. Which means he was probably out for a short while before they actually were able to get him breathing & beating again. The second part I believe means that his organs began to fail for the exact same reason - lack of oxygen.

Every organ in the body requires the flow of oxygenated blood. When the heart doesn't beat, you cannot breath nor can your blood flow. In just a short amount of time, organs, including the muscle of the heart, begin to die due to the lack of oxygenated blood. Which is why many people die from heart attacks every day, because truly a matter of minutes can mean the difference.

Because this soccer player was so young (22) my guess is something will come out in the near future about him having an englarged heart or some other heart defect, because for a young athletic man to die of a heart attack, something is usually wrong that caused it.
