Basal cell carcinoma? |
My sister was diagnosed w/ basal cell carinoma yesterday. She had a spot in her scalp under her hair. The spot was remved and she was checked forther places. No were found, so sheis to go backin a year or sooner w/ changes. Isthis the normal routine? Should any other kind of treatment be preformed? Thanks I have had a melanoma removed and a few "moles" that were referred to as Basals. That was 15 years ago, I am supposed to get checked at least once a year for any new abnormalities. So far nothing. If she gets her regular checks she should be okay. Yes of course try to avoid excessive sun and try to keep some kind of a head covering on when in the sun. I use lots of sunscreen as well. sounds good...the path found that the lesion didnt extend to the margins of the excision. year followup is reasonable |
