What is carcinoma Cancer?

In terms of the category what are general causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment?

"A carcinoma is any cancer that arises from epithelial cells. It is malignant by definition: carcinomas invade surrounding tissues and organs, and may spread to lymph nodes and distal sites (metastasis)." - Wikipedia

Its a Cancer

Carcinoma is a type of cancer. It is more of a word meaning than a specific type Any word ending in -oma is cancer.

Please see http://www.cancer.gov/ to see specific.cancer.

Carcinoma is not a death sentence. Sure there are some carcinomas that kill you fairly soon if untreated, and there as some that battle old age to drag you kicking and biatching into the tomb.

If you want to know what to expect for youself or your family member I would really suggest asking the doctor, and then for an unbiased opinion ask the hospital librarian.

There is a law in the US that every hospital have a medical library and that the librarian be available to doctors, patients, and their families. The librarian really wants to give you information- sure they cannot telll you when someone will die, but they can give you information from which you can draw conculusions.

Let me know if you cannot find the information you need. I can find a medical librarian who can help you, or if you wish I can help you myself.

Everyobdy dies, and it is always sad, but we all move on, and we can use the information the scientific community has to push things out a few years, months, days, or even hours, then ....well you know.

So for authoratative information check these sites
