Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Automobiles? |
First, let me just say, I don't mean to worry anyone, I'm not looking for suicide tips or anything. I'm just curious, because I saw something on TV that said it's nearly impossible to commit suicide by gassing yourself with car exhaust from a modern car. This TV program said that catalytic converters remove 96-98% of CO, so it would take at least 8 hours to build up enough CO to gas yourself to death in an enclosed place such as a garage, like people used to do to commit suicide. Anyone know the accuracy of this statement? I have heard similar claims. I too would be interested in knowing the truth in this. |
