Can you get carbon monoxide poisoning from trying to fix a gas water heater? |
when fixing our gas water heater my dad inhaled alot of gas. he then felt really dizzy and got a really bad headache. is it anything serious? It's not carbon monoxide poisoning because you can't smell carbon monoxide and oftentimes the effects aren't instant. It might be too much natural gas inhalation and to be on the safe side take him to the hospital and see what they say but I assure you that it's probably not carbon monoxide. Absolutely!!!!Get him to a doctor!!!! If he inhaled (natural) gas, he didn't suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning. He would have had to inhaled the cooked gas (fumes), and Fresh Air would best the best remedy. If he still has work to do, have him bring a carbon monoxide detector with him, it'll trigger just like a smoke alarm if the poison is present. If not available, have a fresh air source available. yes you can get carbonmonoxide poisoning, if the gas heater is not vented properly. but handeling natural gas is not the same as carbonmonoxide poisoning. the gas has to have been heated in order to cause serious damage. |
