Can a gas leak cause carbon monoxide poisoning?

Can a gas leak cause carbon monoxide poisoning?

Not in the US or Canada today - the heating and cooking gases do not contain CO. They did at one time, though. I can't answer for the rest of the world.

You can get CO poisoning from devices that burn fuel gases, though, if they are not operating properly.

EDIT : look up town gas and coal gas for more information.

Yes!!!

No - carbon monoxide doesn't from until the gas is burned. A gas leak can cause an explosion if the gas is allowed to build up in a house.

yes it can and the symptoms can make you act very strange, beside the sick headaches.my next door neighbour ended up in a psychiatric ward with cm poisoning, this is in uk i don,t know about anywhere else
