How can we avoid the poisoning by inhalation of Carbon Monoxide? |
I saw a news item today about a man being poisoned to death due to inhalation of carbon monoxide being emitted from an LPG water heater. This happened in Delhi last year and was brought to the public by the deaceased's father on CNN IBN Citizen Journalist today. The detectors weren't present in the product. I think it was Havell's. Not sure if it's an Indian brand or multinational. Carbon Monoxide is the result of incomplete combustion. The link below deals directly with LPG and CO poisoning. having detectors where carbon monoxide may first leak (boilers, heaters) and making sure that the batteries are fresh in those detectors is the first line of defense. the second is probably having an awareness day so that people are aware of this silent killer.
