Hmm is it propane or natural gas?? As long as it is lit, I do not think so. However if it is not lit, and you just have propane, or natural gas leaking into your house you will quite easily blow your house up.

yes it can but not too probable any gas or wood or carbon making divice can cause carbon monoxide poisoning

i would imagine something would get you sick, its happend at my house,my mother always forgets to turn off the gas jet and i could easily smell the fumes, our tenant has come down and told us that they smelled gas. if its lleft on long enough you will have an accident especially if someone smokes, one flick of a lighter and blam, the house explodes.not that this will happen, but the fumes will get to you.

Nope, but it can cause an explosion from a spark or static.

It can, if installed improperly (and not vented to the outside). If you start getting exceptionally drowsy, get nauseated, headache, dizziness, check the stove, turn it off and open the doors and windows.

CO poisoning happens when fuels are incompletely burned.

It wouldn't hurt to get a CO detector (they are stocked right next to the smoke detectors in most hardware and home improvement stores).
