Are eating complex carbohydrates like pasta better for weight control than simple carbohydrates like rice?


I just read that complex carbohydrates are polysaccharides and they are metabolized slower than simple carbohydrates and thus generate lower level of sugar in your body.

Complex carbohydrates are made with whole grain, not white flour. They digest slower than the simple carbs and therefore don't have as high a glycemic index.

Whole wheat pasta and brown rice are complex carbs. The key words are "whole wheat" and "brown."

i don't know about that, but i know the brown carbs are better than the white altogether. whole wheat bread, brown rice, brown pasta...

Your statement is true. But, be careful because excessive carbohydrates will lead to weight gain, regardless of the type. To avoid the sugar issue you might want to eat more protein instead.
