carbohydrates r found in rice , macaroni , beans ,......, one r found in food , the daily amount depends on ur activity , if u rnt active u need like 1500 calorie , if u r too active so 3000 ,
which means if u rnt active so eat just a little bit cz it has lots of calories n it gives u so much energy but if u r active eat like good amount of it
good luck

it is part of some foods like bread and pasta

All foods can be understood as having fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Some are just one or two of these groups, some are all three.

carbohydrates are the instant fuel your brain uses-- you need some. Think Veggies, grains, and Fruits. Your brain can not function on the kind of sugar the body makes from fat or protein, so it's very important to have a little carb with each meal.

A decent portion wont make you fat. An example of a decent portion is a slice of bread, or 1/2 cup rice, one apple, or 1/2 bananna.

RDA for carbs is about 300 - 350g per day. Carbohydrates aren't fats - they are in things like bread, potatoes, pasta, and rice and sugar is also a kind of carbohydrate so non-diet soft drinks, sweets, and fruit juices are all v high in carbs. Carbohydrates do have callories, but not as much as fats. A healthy ballanced diet should have carbohydrates in it because they give you energy, but carbs are what people following the atkins diet cut out. Eggs, nuts, cheese, meat and most vegetables (including tomatoes and cherry tomatoes but not fruits like banannas and apples) don't contain carbs (or contain v little). If you want to reduce the amount of carbs you eat, some low carb meals are stuff like a greek salad, soup, or eggs; roast dinners are pretty low in carbs too, but remember to watch the fat if you are trying to loose weight!

When they are in your body, carbohydrates need insulin for them to be absorbed from your blood into your cells to be used - I have type 1 diabetes which means that my body doesn't make its own insulin so I have to take it through an insulin pump (some people inject - it's the same idea). I have to add up how much grams of carbohydrate I eat and take the right amount of insulin to match it - if I take to much insulin I start to run out of sugar/carbs in my blood and that can make me ill - that's why sometimes people with diabetes need to eat lots of sugar like in sweets or fruit juice to correct it.

Hope that helps xx
