Do you see more carbohydrates in overweight or fit people? |
My personal trainer says that during a fast your body consumes carbohydrates.... and that if you don't have enough your brain doesn't work... At first I was going to say, this was not accurate, and then I read what was said by responder #1. He is correct. In a fast, there are no carbohydrates to consume, so that body uses the stored fat. However, I do not think that is what you asked. it is true. after 3 days of no carbs your body will turn fat into ketones. it will use those ketones to fuel your brain cells. this is called being in ketosis. your body uses fat for energy instead of carbs. this is why low carb diets work so well. |
