Are there different kinds of simple carbohydrates? |
Are there different kinds of simple carbs, or does the body process them all the same? For example, a slice of white bread and a few strawberries both have simple carbohydrates. Does the body process them both the same way? I ask because low-carb diets require that you skip both in order to lose weight, but common sense would tell me that strawberries would be better for you than a slice of white bread. Am I wrong? no they are not the same. Fruits have fructose and white bread is starch (breaks down into glucose). they are processed similarly, fructose is a little harder to digest though. |
