Sources of Carbohydrates for Bodybuilding.?

Im gettin into bodybuilding and have got a fairly good eating/nutrition plan, Im just looking for a change in the carbohydrate side of the diet. Apart from baked potatoes, new potatoes and pasta what other alternatives are there?

Our daily carbohydrate intake is essential as they are the main fuel for all muscular movement.

For an average person the diet should provide a large proportion of energy from this nutrient. If you exercise frequently your carbohydrate intake should be even higher.

A good carbohydrate intake enables muscles to work harder throughout a workout helping to burn more calories and maintain weight.

6 servings of grain & cereal foods such as bread, pasta, and rice (preferably wholegrain, high fiber types)
3 or 4 servings of vegetables
2 or more servings of fruit

When planning your carbohydrate intake you should try to consume fresh natural foods and ingredients

The food list below shows good sources of complex carbohydrates.

Pasta

Macaroni Spaghetti Brown rice

Potatoes

Other root vegetables

Wholemeal breads Granary bread

Brown bread Pitta bread

Bagel Wholegrain cereals

High fiber breakfast cereals

Porridge oats All bran Wheetabix

Shredded wheat Ryvita crispbread

Muesli Oatcakes Peas Beans Lentils

Simple carbohydrates; are usually considered to be "bad" carbs, but these are those that have been processed and broken down before being put back together again in an unnatural way such as to produce a sweet product like chocolate.

Natural simple carbohydrates are the best carbs to include in the diet.

Apples Blackberries Bannana

Blackcurrants Cherry Cranberries

Grapefruit Kiwi Lemon

Melon Oranges Peach Pear

Plum Raspberrie Strawberries

Listed below is simple carbohydrates that should be used sparingly

Table sugar

Cakes Biscuits - plain

Jam Chocolate Fudge

Candy Toffee Gums

Boiled sweets Mint Sweets

Tinned fruits Chutney Pickle

Puddlings - some

Just remember this "food is important because this is were you get your energy from" "Exersice is the process that is used to build strength" "Sleep is the time muscles are built" these three should be put together for you to build your body.

When you leave the gym your body should fell sore, not hurting, if it does not, your not working hard enough.

When I am training weight lifters and body builders, they have a coulourful aray of words that they think apply to me.
