there are quite a few carb counting books available. One of the better ones is Atkins. It comes as a pocket size book so is handy to put in purse.

It has loads of fast foods listed as well as some of the better known restaurants.

really the only thing in Chinese that counts are the noodles and the rice.every thing else is fibre or protein

You won't find an accurate list because every Chinese cook uses different ingredients and additives. The rule of thumb is to avoid rice, noodles, buns, anything with a sweet sauce or coating, and anything breaded and fried. A Chinese buffet will have lots of other good eating options.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of carbs in Chinese food.
The sauces they sweeten with sugar and sugar products really add up.
As people with diabetes can eat every food on this earth,I also enjoy it.
There may be some carb books out there that list major Chinese food items.. Try asking at the American diabetes association.
You and your son can safely eat rice, noodles and so on.We do need carbs and there is a lot of great veggies in there.

rice n noodles obliviously but tomatoes also have lots of carbs...

While it is true that different preparers are going to make their dishes differently, you can get a generalization or average. Just go here and type in the type of Chinese food in the search window....

Be wary of hidden carbs. I have taken plates of "vegetables with a little meat and a tiny bit of rice" and had very high sugar after,

A cup of chicken chow mein, for instance, can have 92 grams of carbs. A cup of chicken fried rice is 67. A serving of sweet and sour pork is 35. So that plate of food at the local Chinese take out adds up to almost 200 grams of carb. Add an egg roll and I myself would be injecting 13 units of insulin and still ending up high.

I've found Japanese to be a bit easier on the system, as long as you ask for extra vegetables and 1/2 or even 1/3 of the normal serving of rice. (You have to get to know portion sizes at your local restaurant.)
