I'm a soccer player and trying to get on a healthy diet. All I hear is carbohydrates, but what do i eat?

everyone and everywhere i read tells me i need carbohydrates. they give us energy and all that stuff. but NONE of those websites tell me types of foods and such that contain large amounts of this. can anyone list some foods and drinks that contain lots of carbs and can help me get in shape faster and more efficiently? breakfast foods? lunch? dinner? snacks? fruits/veggies? drinks? PLEASE HELP! thank you!

The energy drinks sounds like a good idea, the pasta not so much. Yes, it is high-carb, but eating complex carbohydrates right before a game will probably give you side cramps, (complex carbs like bread and pasta are hard to digest.) Simple sugars are better before a game, stuff like apples and grapes and most, but not all other fruits are easy to digest, and certain energy bars. Pasta is good for the night before, not right before.

Good idea: eat pasta before games, or drink high carb energy drinks such as Monster or Red Bull or Gatorade

Also: carbs are basically stored energy the body uses to keep you going

This site should be of help to you:
http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index...
It will determine what you should be eating and how much of each kind of food group you should be eating. It also lists what types of foods that you should eat as well. :)
And don't forget to drink sports drinks like gatorade that has electrolytes in them. It helps keep you hydrated and replinishes your body.
