Fats in foods can be stored if not used and give you fat, but do carbohydrates do the same?

I know they are both a great source of energy, but can carbohydrates store as fat?

All calories regardless there source can and will be stored as fat is they are not used by the body for energy.

yes, fat is the only way the body can store energy. this means that any spare calories will be stored as fat regardless of where they came from (protein, carbs etc).
