Why do athletes need 70% of carbohydrates in their diet?


this is for an assignment and i need to justify why a high carbohydrate diet is necessary for an athlete

althetes need more carbs in their diet because its where your energy is derived from. carbs are your bodies main source for ATP production. ATP is your "fuel" that allows your body to function. athletes need more of these carbs than the avergae person because they use more energy and need to produce more ATP.

carbs give the athletes good energy :D

Because like Sugars carbs give alot of energy but last much longer than sugers..this is why most of them eat breads and pasta.

Carbohydrates are more "energy efficient" when they are converted into usable energy.
