Do you think cannabis is a bad drug?

When compared to other legal drugs i think that cannabis is harmless.

Smoking tobacco. This can cause cancer and is highly addicitve, but yet is 100% legal to over 18's in England.

Smoking Cannabis can also cause health problems, such as cancer, but isnt highly addcitive, in fact your body doesnt begin to rely on it at all, except from mentally, but if you get into a habit of anything then your body will struggle to anything differently.

Alcohol. I know that when i walk around the streets of swindon and look around i can see countless drunk people causing trouble, detroying property and fighting and they are all drunk. How many stoners do you know that do this BECAUSE of cannabis. i dont know one, and i know many.

Im nearly 18, in full time education, with 100% attendance and am doing very well, i have been bought up around cannabis and have smoked it everyday for over a year. Im a normal person and hate being called a druggy.

I think its fine.....its not a horrible drug. cigarettes will kill you...not cannabis. People are stupid....it should be legal.

i can be in the wrong hands. but you can say that about anything. don't let it run you then it's bad but if you inhaled it i would sentance you to life in prison.

anyways, just kidding ---- I don't really know if it's good or bad -- whatever --- my Grandfather still smokes weed to this day and he is completely fried, no reflexes, no ambition. He's a funny guy and fun to be around, of course, I love the guy but he's just sort of........ gone.

by the way, I don't believe that it affects babies as much as people say --------- I saw a video when I was younger that showed deformed sperm with 2 heads and stuff. But I later read that those 2 headed little guys are there to fight another man's sperm off.

It is not bad. Reference its uses and medicinal effects.

I am a child of the 60's. I KNOW drugs. Canabis is addictive in that one craves the mellow happy feeling resulting from smoking it. Of my friends, which isn't a scientific group, those who continued smoking pot (BC bud) they lost their drive to suceed in life and all of them ALL are on welfare, or working sporadically. Most sell drugs to maintain their lifestyle. For those of us who realized what was happening and quit doing pot, we have progressed to living contributing lifestyles in society. Only one of my friends went on to hard drugs. And he is now in jail. U are a druggie, in todays defination. Live with it. You appear to have made your choice.

Alcohol is 10 times worse. I don't do either anymore because I am a recovering addict and alcoholic, but I know from experience that alcohol will destroy you and pot will just take away ambition

I think:

that you have been mislead by the excuses that allow you to do a drug that is illegal

that you have not read all there is to know regarding your drug of choice

it is illegal for a reason, and that reason is a good one

that it does cause deformaties in the creation of babies
... you could give birth to a mentally handicapped child
as this drug, as many other illegal drugs

damage your genes that you pass along to your unborn children

Cannabis is still a drug. It alters your perceptions and that makes it a mind-altering drug. If you want to smoke it everyday, that is your privilege. However, no one really knows what the long term effects can be.

I think anything other than aspirin is a bad drug, whether it's a pill to help you sleep, a prescription pain killer, an illegal substance, alcohol, tobacco, sex, heroin, cocaine, gambling or even television and computers. They are all addictive.....the more we have, the more we want.
I don't think there's a 'drug' out there that doesn't allow us to get 'hooked'. I'd be very careful if I were you.

you have valid points but it is usually a start up drug...leads to other types of use. Some folks I know have always smoked it and never used anything else but most folks aren't strong enough for that. It has been used to help with cataracts and AIDS and shown great results but it will never be legalized due to the fact the government can never control it. You will be called a druggie until you stop using. It's that simple. Either stop using or get over the name calling. AND DON"T TRAVEL WITH IT!!! An arrest for possession will haunt you your entire life and hold you back from many of life's choices

No, it does nothing to hurt our society. The only thing about marijuana that hurts other people is the fact that it's illegal in the first place.

I hear that a lot with prescription drugs that have only been out a few years. However you are the first person I have ever heard say that about something that has been around for 1000's of years. Seriously, we know what the long term effects are.
