Smoking cannabis and working out?

I'm 17 and I work out quite a bit, on my bench dumbells abs, protein shakes etc, but I have a slight problem with cannabis, I tend to smoke it once every 3 nights about 2 hours after I work out, does this affect my workout that I did before I smoked at all?

I'm not sure what your problem with cannabis is. As long as you're not smoking it BEFORE your workout, you should be ok. During the 60's and 70's, many bodybuilders, including Arnold, smoked the cheeba with no ill effects. However, smoking it before a workout will tend to make you lazy and way too peaceful to get any heavy lifting done. However, as a bodybuilder, you probably know that, besides working out, the most important thing to building your muscles is to REST after your workouts. The herb should make you feel like chillin and getting the rest your muscles deserve after a good workout. Just be sure and resist the "munchies." Filling your belly with all kinds of crap will only build fat, not muscle, on your body.

Good luck with your workout.

Nope... it may affect your motivation level though.

only if you get the major munchies

no just your lung compacity

no, in fact it could help, one of marijuana's medicinal qualities is speeding up your metabolism, hence the munchies :)

Not at all! That small of amount and your fine other then you know that it is against the law....Now if you smoke daily it can effect your cardio work outs and lung capacity..

dont smoke cannibals, they're people, too,

it just kills your brain and stuff.. thats all.

I use to do this...Please stop
you are over working your muscles
because your numb from the pain
I shake all the time now
I feel like I screwed up my nervous system or something

No, It shouldnt.. it might make you more tired after working out. I wouldnt worry about it causing adverse exercise effects.

don't know what you mean by affecting your workout, but it can damage your circulatory system. You put pressure on your heart and vessels when you work out, and ingesting cannabis does the same thing. It's not a good combination.

Only when you are still growing ( you are 17, you are) if you smoke then do fitness training it can affect muscle growth. By that I mean it can mutate the way the muscle grows. But if you are smoking after you train it is all good.

It can be dangerous. When working out too you must dink plenty of water.

It lowers your blood sugar (which is why you get the munchies), so you might get faint.

YES. smoke inhalation deteriorates mussels. deteriorates your lungs. so if your going to smoke might as well not work out. besides your just going to eat that fat and calories back 3 fold over what you can burn in a day. trust me this is true all true.

Watch "Pumping Iron" (1977). There's a scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger smoking a joint. Keep it up and you might end up governor of California.
