How can the government consider cannabis a drug?

ok, you make a pill that is used for medicinal purposes but the **** has like 100,000 side effects on top of being heavily abused. When abused complications or even can occur quickly. Marijuana, non man made HERB has several medicinal purposes. Keyword is HERB. Everybody knows herbs heal. It has even been proven to help combat cancer cells!! A being can comsume a pount of cannabis and the worst the will hapen is sleep(no death like the man made drugs)!! Whats the arguement? Cocaine and all that other mess, yea that should be considered illegal and a drug because its man made and kills!!!

I agree but we can't question the government's infinite wisdom. Or else it's punishment for us!

It is considered a drug by the government because the government was paid and is still being paid to call it that. It was first made illegal because DuPont was making nylon rope but couldn't sell it because marijuana or hemp rope was far superior. DuPont lobbied (bribed) governments all over the world to make it illegal. You can also run a diesel engine on hemp oil and it can be made into fuel for gasoline engines, so the oil companies have a stake in keeping it illegal. Marijuana is the best therapeutic substance on earth for many health problems, so the drug companies have a stake in keeping it illegal. Hell will freeze over before it becomes legal in the US because there is a **** load of money in it for the lawmakers to keep it illegal.

If pot was made legal, where would the government spend all the money that is used to "hunt down" and capture criminals while hiding the secret investments in pot? What would be the fate of valium, xanax and all the other tranquilizers we pay so much for? In case you havent noticed, the government is making lots of money at the local level. Fines, and license suspensions, and illegal searchs of cars are making lots of money for small towns that have no other way to subsidize their fat officers bellies. Money is the reason that the government will not make pot legal. Money and control. The more people we can fingerprint and have a record of, the easier to control us.
