Drug testing.. can it detect breathing cannabis?

Can breathing cannabis in a room of 2 people smoking accuse me in a drug test.. i am being drug tested early january so i need to be carefull... does anyone know?

i am going to this party today.. and they will be smoking to today.. so there would be a few weeks.. till the drug test itself which is on the 4th of jan

I disagree with a lot of the other answers, in the UK at any rate they apply "thresholds" to take account of passive cannabis smoking.

So yes there may very well be tiny insignificant traces which show up but it does not make it a FAIL. To fail, you need to have been smoking the stuff.

Of course many people who faill say it was through passive smoking. And for the record, cannabis is detectable in the urine for up to 6 weeks.

IF YOU LIE DOWN WITH DOGS, YOU GET FLEAS!!

seriously, avoid drug users in general. They're losers.

I hope you will pass Okay. Good luck.

Yep!

YES IT DOES AS YOU HAVE BEE INHALING THE FUMES AROUND YOU

Cannibis shows up in drug tests longer than any other substance. Don't do it if you want to pass the drug test.

get a detox kit from boots. ma mate was a heavy user, kit took 2 weeks and he passed it.

they cant detect it if ur not smokin it if u want to get the all clear dont smoke it! good luck...xx

In theory, yes, although it depends how much you inhaled.

If you're worried, there are things you can do to try and clean out your system (eg kits you can buy).

YES. You most definately can test positive for canabis from passive smoking it and if you sit in a smokey room of it you will.

yes it does so dont do it i have heard the police are doing random checks this time of yeah and if they smell it on you they will do a roadside test and maybe give you points on your licence

Yes..it absolutely can cause a positive drug test. This very same thing caused my son to fail and he spent a long time proving that he was clean.

Any inhalant drug is and will be detectable for up to three months from the day of inhaling it by a simple blood test or urine test.

No or rather I doubt it. You would have to be in a sealed room full of Cannabis smoke for days for it to show up in a drug test. This excuse has been often used by cannabis smokers when their results come back. It does not convince Doctors or employers. Cannabis can stay in your system for up to a month if you are a heavy user. Traces are left behind and show up in your Urine. Tests can prove you have ingested cannabis, but cannot tell when or how much. Generally passive smoking of cannabis will not show up.

Cannabis can be detected for a very long time indeed, but then you would really want to find it, for your normal routine type of test it is unlikely to cause a problem. They will be looking for current use rather than past history. I'm guessing but since there is no details on who or what the test is for its hard to say. exactly if this would be an issue. Best advice is that if this test is a one off avoid it all together. If it is likely to be routine you need to consider whether your social environment is appropriate for your professional one. If you post more details I may be able to advise better

any drug you have taken or been in contact with stays in your sysem 4 72 hours so u will b fine at the early part of january..usual conduct at a drug test will ask if u have been in contact with any drug in the last 72 hours prior to the test,u just need to say that u have been in a room where cannbis has been smoked but u have not smoked it yourself..dont worry ul b ok xx iv just seen some of the answers and would like to say that iv been where cannabis has been smoked b4 i new we had a drug test the same nite and nothing was detected i myself DO NOT smoke cannabis..tho having your urine sampled for drugs is a different matter,my comments above are in relation to having a drugs dog come into ur place of work

Cannabis can be detected in your system from two weeks to up to a year depending on how much you've inhaled and how often. THC (the 'active ingredient') is stored in your fat cells so takes a while to be released.
If you only inhaled a small amount of secondary smoke it would be difficult to detect with the standard tests (i.e. urine tests). I doubt they would do a blood test on you. It's more expensive and has to be done by a qualified nurse or doctor.
A good detox will work wonders. Get something from the health shop, drink a lot of water and orange juice. Don't worry about it.

it certainly can.By inhailing it all be it passivly it will still enter your blood stream and could show traces in any subsiquent drugs test

Yes a drug test can pick up second hand smoke from pot and cigarettes.
Do be around if you dont want it showing up.

just inhaling it shouldn't be a problem, but if you were to smoke it it would of course be in your system and for a number of weeks.

Oh geeeez, these answer missed it.

The research shows that -- in order for you to test positive at all -- there would have to be so much smoke in the room that you would have to wear goggles and probably couldn't see across the room. Seriously.

How do I know? I get the question all the time. I have the world's largest online library of drug policy http://druglibrary.org/schaffer
