Canker Sore?

I have 2 canker sores, and they hurt. I always get them. Is there anything that I can do to get rid of them?

Pay attention to your diet. Some foods (i.e. vineger) seem to strip the mouth of its abilities to suppress canker sores.

This should not have been best answer. I've also had canker sores all my life, yes it has to do somewhat with what you eat, but it's more than that. Hopefully this will help- I was given prescription pills prescribed by my dentist-it was a type of Valtrex and that definitely worked. Report It

For canker sores, gargle w/ some warm salt water. It really helps. If you can stand the pain, use a wet q-tip and dab some on the sore directly before bedtime. It burns like hell, but the sore will usually be gone by the next day. Load up on vitamins C & B and take Lysine. Report It

Canker sores can be very sore to the touch, even to the point that a person may need to limit their oral activities. Some OTC products contain numbing agents (such as the benzocaine, benzoin tincture, lidocaine, camphor, and phenol) and these products can be useful in minimizing the degree to which canker sores interfere with normal daily activities. Some manufacturers incorporate their numbing agents into those pastes that can create a protective barrier film over a canker sore's surface.
Make sure you read the directions for these numbing products and use them judiciously. In some cases these products are indicated for short-term usage only.

I have suffered with canker sores all of my life. I was never able to find anything to help. Sure, there are products out there, but the majority of them just numb the area and don't do anything to help with healing. Good news: I just found a new product called Canker Cover- it is made by Quantum Health. I bought a box of six for around $6.00 at Walmart. They are little patches that look like a small pill. You stick it on the sore (right before bed is the best time to do it) and it dissolves into a gel-like substance. That covers the sore and helps it heal. Last time, I only needed one to get rid of a really bad canker sore. They are definitely worth the money!!

My dentist uses a laser to cauterize the canker sore. If gives immediate relief.
