Canker sore, tonsillitis or strep? help!?

so i have a really painful pus-filled sack on the left side of my throat, what i think is my tonsil. seems i've had canker sores in/on my throat before and they've been terribly painful but from my experience this one seems too big to be a canker sore. it's swollen and very red but because it's in a 'crevice' on the side and fairly fair back it's hard to see what's really going on here. i don't feel 100% but i can't seem to figure out if that's just because it's so painful or because there is something else wrong. i don't really have any other symptoms but am absolutely miserable, and yes, i'm up in the middle of the night because i can't sleep!

If it's extremely painful you should really see a doctor. Especially since there's pus, that means it's infected. It's most likely strep throat but I wouldn't rule out tonsillitis either.
