Canker sore trouble?

oi have a huge canker sore in my mouth and its been there for about a week, its very painful and i put toothpaste on it 3 times everyday..its still there! its about the size of a bead...whats going on and how can i resolve quicker without a whole great deal of pain (i cant even eat or chew gum any more!)?

Gargle with warm salt water often, as it's a great way to heal it.

ow, i know those kill. there are many non-persciption medicines you apply directly to the sore. this nums them and of done regularly, make the sore go away

i highly recommend getting some umeboshi paste. what it is, is a paste made from a pickled japanese prune. it acts as a natural antiseptic and helps cure a number of health related annoyances. i'm prone to getting canker sores ALOT and have tried everything under the sun to help soothe and get rid of them and umeboshi paste is the only thing that's really helped. you can probably find it at health food stores or asian markets. it never goes bad and you can use it for tons of stuff like stomach aches, mouth sores, and you can cook with it (it's great on cob corn). it only takes a little dab and burns like hell but it works. i put some on a canker sore that had been bothering me and seriously after it quit burning the sore felt much better and it started healing pretty quickly. umeboshi is kind of expensive but it never really goes bad. and it doesn't just numb it like over the counter canker meds do, it actually works to get rid of the sore.
