Are candy canes poisonous?

My older brother keeps teling me that they are poisonous and that I will die if I eat one. I don't want to try one just in case. So how do I know if they're poisonous or not? They sure smell good! But I've learned not to eat everything that smells good. Like rubber cement, that smells real good, but the docter says I'm not allowed to eat it anymore. Help?

You shouldn't eat tha rubber cement but put some in the palm of your hand and roll it. It makes a really realistic booger. Leave those around for your brother. He'll like it.

Candy canes are basically sucrose (sugar) and mint flavoring.

Not good for you, but not poisonous.

If you have diabetes, definitely avoid them completely. Otherwise, tell your brother to leave you alone.

PS, you know, that's a good point that that person made, your brother might have put something on whatever candy cane you are talking about.

But if you get one from a store and unwrap it for yourself, it's fine.
