Can caned food give you lead posioning? |
i heard when canned food first came out u could get lead posioning from eatting it too often. is that still true or is there some special new technology we use that prevents it? The special new technology is aluminum cans. They don't contain lead so you won't get lead poisoning. Watch out for cans that are bulging though, they may contain bacteria which can cause food poisoning. Dented cans are OK. They don't use lead for food cans anymore. Lead is not used in canning food anymore. Unfortunately, too many people still have a habit of storing leftover food in the cans. That is dangerous, because the bacteria build up in the can wall and can cause infections. |
