yeah, braces can hurt for like the first week, as your mouth gets used to the metal being there. keep taking tylenol or advil, it should help eventually. also use the ortho wax if your gums or cheeks are sore from the brackets or wires. you may also experience pain for a while (sometimes a whole day) when you have ur braces tightened. it could help if you take pain reliever b4 the appointment.

about the food - yes it is difficult to chew in the beginning and also for awhile after the monthly visits. if you don't feel like eating anything at all, try smoothies or nutrition drinks like ensure or boost - took me a while to get used to them, but i actually like the vanilla flavor now lol.

also campbells soup at hand is a microwave cup that you just heat and drink - no spoon needed.
then there's pudding, applesauce, yogurt, ice cream, mashed potatoes, that tiny pasta (forget what they call it) and other soft stuff.

hang in there - it will be worth it! i will be getting mine off soon, i hope!
good luck!

Eat banana, rice

i would recommend jello and ice cream to eat. :] soup is good too. bananas are pretty soft to eat, but if your teeth are that sensitive, then i recommend not to.

remember, they'll tighten your braces every month or so, so you kind of have to deal with this pain for up to 3 days once month.

when I had braces, to make the pain go away, i would take either tylenol or aspirin. it reduced the pain enough that I could actually eat.

for the things that are bothering you, are they like the thing that goes around your tooth/molar? cuz if it is, you could cover it with wax, and it'll stop bugging.

hopefully i helped.

apple sause, yogurt and soup were my survival foods when i had braces. and doing things helped to keep my mind off the pain. try not to think about it too much, it makes it much worse.

and eventually you will eat every food on that list.... once your teeth are not sore anymore. i know its "breaking the rules" but no one really cares after having braces for a while.

Okay well I know what your going through! I just got mine off a few days ago but I know how you feel. Avoid hard or crispy foods such as chicken tenders, chips, and that stuff while you're in pain. Eat soft stuff no matter how fattning it is, because you'd rather eat pain free than starve right? So eat like ice cream, yogurt, applesauce, mashed patatoes, rice, just anything that is soft. Don't worry this will only last a couple of days, you'll get used to it. It gets better. For me it only hurt when I got new wires, not when I got them tightened because I was already used to the wire. But the further you get with them the better it should get. Nah, you can eat some of the food you listed that you're not supposed to. I wasnt supposed to eat any of that stuff either but guess what, I did and I got my braces off just on time and barely broke any brackets!

yeah bananas, SOUP, apple sauce, mac and cheese, pasta
basically anything mushyyy
