Puffer for cough, what the heck is going on?

Okay, doc gave me this thing Pulmicort Turbuhaler. I've had a cough for about 4 weeks now, took some amoxicillian (I thinks thats right) for 7 days and did not get better, so looks like I have a chest infection people are saying. I've never had one, so I don't know what to expect. I've been sick of course before for a week with the flu, but never coughing everyday. The last two weeks I'm coughing up stuff, yellow/green (sorry for the gross) in colour. I'm not a smoker, nor do I have asthma, which is the reason I'm curious. After researching the website, I found: PULMICORT TURBUHALER is an inhaled corticosteroid. The medication in your PULMICORT TURBUHALER works to reduce and prevent inflammation in your airways and helps manage your "asthma" symptoms when used regularly. Side effects include "respiratory infection", "headache", oral candidiasis (thrush in the mouth), pharyngitis (sore throat), voice alteration (hoarseness), and "sinusitis. I've felt worse since taking it, anyone else?

He thinks you have bronchitis which is an inflammatry disease of the smaler airways of the lungs. You are feeling the effects of Cushing's syndrome, a side effect of corticosteroids. Be sure to monitor your fluid intake and rinse out your mouth after using the inhaler.

The pulmicort will do exactly what your dr wants even if you aren't an asthmatic because your lungs are inflamed but if I were you I would tell the dr that you are feeling worse and see what they do from there.
