Do you need a Christian Booklet to explain your cancer to a child?

Do you need a Christian Booklet to explain your cancer to a child?

The doctor who diagnosed your illness very probably has pamphlets that will help you explain it. If s/he doesn't, a social worker assigned to the hospital where you receive your care will.

For a child, bringing God into it may add fear and confusion. Why did God give you cancer? What did you do that made God want to punish you? Will God give *me* cancer if I'm bad?

These are not issues you want a child to face.

one would do nice but i dont think it is mandatory that you have one. if you dont have one and there is no possible way you can get then then just improvise.

I feel badly that you need to have this talk with your child. I know this must be difficult for you.

I guess it depends on what you are explaining to your child at this time. If you want the child to understand your disease, it may be helpful to use illustrated science books. They get a better understanding of what your body is made of and what your body is going through.

If you are preparing the child for a life without you, you may find a Christian booklet more helpful.

Regardless of which you choose, know that your child will always remember the time you spent in helping him/her understand what is happening.
