I"m a cancer patien ,doctor said I WILL NO LIVE LONNGER PERIOD i have a child ,please help me? |
cancer patien brain cancer seeking for help. First of all, know this. Doctors cannot tell you when you are going to die. It's a prediction and a good guess. But since they can guess accurately sometimes, you need to set your affairs straight. Who do you want to take care of you child? Write a letter of things you want to tell your family and things you never got to say. Make every day count. Try to enjoy every day as if it were your last. I'm very sorry to hear you have cancer. God bless. Really??? I'm speechless. And you are asking yahoo for help? Ask your Dr. for advice for your child or a close relative or friend to adopt. There isn't much info on here from you so, its hard to give better advice...but I am sorry for your diagnosis. God Bless You. I am so sorry. I'm not exactly sure what you want help with. You need to get your affairs in order and find the best person to take care of your child. I have a friend who is dying also and he wrote many long letters to the grandchild he will not be around to see grow up. I would recommend doing that also. You should probably contact hospice as they can help with many end-of-life decisions and can offer counseling. Talk with your clergy if you go to church. What horrible answers you have received so far! Obviously, you wish, if possible, to find something that will allow you to recover, or to live as long as possible. Certainly you will need to make arrangements for the welfare of your child, should you die from the cancer. Doctors do not know how long anyone has to live. They said my husband would live 3 months if he was lucky. He lived for 3 years. His last week in the hospital they told me every day, he is going to go today, he lived a week. They have no idea and the doctor should NOT have said that to you. Ask a trusted relative to care for your child. I have children and can not imagine if I were you. I have a child with disabilities and being a single parent now I am afraid to drive my car because I always think about possibilities.I have no relatives. Talk to your trusted friends and family members. Most importantly talk to the child. If the child is old enough to understand they need you to tell them the plan for their future. Please don't let it be a surprise to the child that you may pass on. Meanwhile, keep positive thoughts and don't go by what the doctors say. Doctors doing that makes people give up hope. Brain tumors are not always fatal. I will keep you in my thoughts. This must be a very difficult time for you. Having cancer and being told you have limited life expectancy can be scary. My husband also has cancer so I can understand somewhat what you may be experiencing. |
