-God Bless to any one out there that has cancer-
well thanks for any help you give

Childhood cancer is the number one killer of children in the US. Out of five children with cancer . . one will die. The average age of a child with cancer is six years old.

On a daily basis . . 46 children are diagnosed every day with cancer in the US. 12,500 children a year are diagnosed with cancer. And, there are currently 40,000 children and teens in treatment for childhood cancers.

If you are interested in helping support childhood cancer advocacy than check out CureSearch . . a non-profit organization made up of parents, caregivers, and doctors dedicated to eliminating the suffering of all childhood cancers.

As for helping by donating to Locks of Love, the truth is that this charity rarely gives wigs to kids with cancer. They give the wigs to healthy children who have a condition called Alopecia Areata, which is NOT cancer. They give fake hair wigs to kids with cancer. So, you are not giving your hair to children who have cancer at all. The reason is because locks of love only gives children who have long term hair loss . . and kids with cancer only have short term hair loss. Kids with cancer almost never get a real hair wig.

My oldest son is a childhood cancer survivor; we were fortunate at the time to have good insurance.

Bless you for wanting to find ways to help. Try the St. Jude Hospital as a starting point.

Good luck!
