Is there such a job to play with sick children? (cancer, terminally ill, or just hospitalized for a long time) |
make them smile, or just play with them (games, color, ect.) to make them feel more normal while at the hospital...if so, what's the title? any other info? Physical therapy for children often involves what looks like play. Play therapy is also used as a part of mental therapy for children who suffer from hospitalizations. Go on line and look up some well known children's hospitals, go to the hospital web site and you should find a description of the kind of treatment they provide. They treat the whole child, not just the physical ailment. I don't know about that, but I'm sure that you could always volunteer. Just search online. As far as i know, this is more of a volunteer type of job. There should be no reward when putting a smile on there face; besides the smile on there face. You might just want to check with your local hospital or cancer center, i'm sure they will love you wanting to help. you can volunteer at a childrens hospital. a paying job could be a nurses aide or an activity aide. go to the hospital and ask for an application.goodluck;)michele Child Life Specialist |
