Is there a website for children whose parents have cancer?

I know a young girl whose mother has brain cancer and I was interested to see if there were any websites for children whose parents have cancer

There aren't any really "kid" designed sites, its more of a personal issue between the kids and the parents, and whether the parents which to say more or less about their cancer. I have cancer, and have two young kids, and tend to talk to them like adults on the subject(to some degree of course, i still want them to be kids) and they seem to understand as well as you could expect.

Cancer Research uk has some links : http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/defaul...

I'm sorry to hear that...try these:

http://www.kidscope.org/
http://www.childrenstreehousefdn.org/

Best of luck to you, your little friend and her mom.

There are alot of sites for info, but if I were you, I would want to be able to talk to someone, too. Try Kids Help Phone. 1-800-668-6868.
I am truly sorry to hear this, by the way.

I don't believe it's good for children to be connecting on the internet for subjects such as this.

Talk to a social worker at the hospital and express your concerns to them and get their advice on what help is available.

Children can read things which can have severe psychological impacts and therefore should be supervised and not just go researching this stuff themselves.

Much information doesn't necessarily apply to ones condition and can only serve to deepen their worries and fears.

There are over 200 types of cancers, and this woman has brain cancer, totally different than all the others and probably there are many forms of brain cancer too. The focus should be on her specific cancer and not all the other information pertaining to other more dangerous and fast spreading types.

I met a boy in hospital whose brain tumour completely disappeared so there is always hope and no need to put a child through every gruesome detail or possibility.
