How did u get over cancer if u ever had one?

I had last operation one year ago. Now I'm almost 16. at first it was scary and imposible to believe that my life was in dangerous. As about now I feel well and grateful I was ill bc it changed my mind. This summer I was sent to Barretstown gang camp in Ireland for children with cancer and it made me feel as a normal teen. For me it was important life experience and it made me enjoy every moment of my life. Have u ever been ill? how do u feel about it?

I am dying right now from an incurable liver disease..,but my son had cancer, called a chordoma which was a tumor located on the brain stem.Inoperable but he has been cancer free for almost 10 years..,I know you had to go through hell with all the treatments and you should be proud that you are a strong and brave young person to have endured such a battle and I commend you.Keep up the positive attitude and it does make you see things differently doesnt it?It does me.God Bless and good luck and enjoy your young life.

wow. I am lucky enough to say that I havent had any major illness, but I just wanted to say you are very clearly a brave and honourable individual...good for you!

I am a nurse so i have only experienced cancer from the outside...i think you are very brave and i am proud of you for being so strong, your attitude is very mature,,,take care honey and stay focused xx

Cancer by 16 makes you grow up too fast. Hopefully, that is all behind you now. It is good that you were able to get to camp and enjoy your summer.
I haven't had cancer, but there are a couple of times in my life when I had to stay in bed for over a month. It got boring after a while laying there and I wanted it to end. Some people around me were concerned that it was more serious than it was. Dealing with the concerns and doubts that others left me with was the hardest part. (I had a cousin your age and he had the same symptoms and it was the start of ____).

Best wishes on getting rid of your oncologist as soon as possible.

Mine came out of the blue. No risk factors, no family history.
But so far, I 'm a survivor. It certainly does change the way you look at life. I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

HELLO,

I have never had Cancer myself, but a couple of family members have...

I just want to say you should be proud of your self. You sound so strong and sound as though you have dealt with your situation really well.

I wish you a lots of good health and luck for the future. xxx

I work the research and developmant company who pioneered a science which is taking the world by storm. Some of the results I have seen are quite remarkable.

This is not a claim for a cure - I don't believe there is any such thing.

You need to be concentrating on prevention now, stopping the cancer from returning, or at least giving your body the tools to identify and tackle the problem. Believe it or not, it is more about getting your body to recognise that the cancer exists in the first place.

Every day I hear people moaning about this science, every day the same people have completely missed the point. Children didn't used to get cancer, yet Paediatric Oncology is now one of the fastest growing professions around the world - this is not just due to a more poluted atmosphere (though that is a factor).

I will be happy to get some information to you if you like.

Cancer is a rotten disease, and you are one gutsy person, I applaud you. Take care!
