Differences between benign and malignant cancer? Benign tumors can grow but, do not spread to remote places. Malignant tumors have the potential to metastsize. Benign is not cancer. Malignant is cancer. Benign means there is NO cancer, malignant means that there IS cancer. Cancer means it IS malignant. Benign means it is NOT cancer. benign is non-cancerous. Malignant is cancerous. But, don't get too comfortable yet. Benign tumors can cause just as much trouble as benign. If you have a benign tumor in the brain and it is growing into a vital section of the brain, you could die. So both are trouble. with benign you don;'t have to worry means the lump / cyst or whatever you got screened for cancer is harmless, but in case of malignant, means the person has cancerous tumor that needs immediate treatment by surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. A benign tumor is not cancerous, while the malignant tumor is cancerous and spreading. malignant means it's serious, benign means it's not. |
