Lump in my breast. Appt with Dr on Thursday and I am a little nervous.? |
Hi there. I have a tiny lump in my right breast...about the size of pea..maybe a little bigger. Its very hard, like a little pebble but it isn't sore. Do any of you have experience with this. Besides cancer and just a benign cyst what else could it be. I have a really horrible family history with this type of thing. An aunt, grandma and great grandmother all had breast cancer. Can you all just share whatever info or experience you have with this sort of thing. I know the doctor will feel the lump but what else?? Ugh, I feel like I have been waiting my whole life for these problems to start...and now they are. He/she might send you for an ultrasound- I had one on my thyroid for a lump there. If it looks suspicious they might do a biopsy, too. Depending on where the lump in it could be a lot of things. I've heard of people with similar symptoms having it turn out to be a clogged oil gland that got infected...who knows? Even if the worst happens, at least you caught it early. Try not to stress too much and good luck. Because of your family history your Doctor should send you for a mammogram and they may decide to do a biopsy at the hospital where they take fluid and small 'piece' from the lump via a needle. I had 2 hard lumps in my breast but it turned out that they were just fatty deposits and nothing to worry about, although I was told to go straight to my G.P. if any more lumps appear for them to be checked out. I hope this helps and all goes well for you. |
