Throat tumor ...? |
Went to the doctor today cause my throat was sore for a while now. Doctor looked at my throat and said its a tumor and I must go to specialist asap. I have an appointment on Friday but for right now I'm scared as heck! What's the chances its benign vs cancer? I was a smoker for 28 years! I don't smoke now but ......... The tumor is in the oropharyngeal area. It's about the size of 2 peas put together. The shape is kind of oblong and it is redder than the rest of my skin in my mouth and throat. My throat is really sore and hurts to swallow stuff. It could definitely be benign, but unfortunately cancer is a real possiblity, especially if you have a history of smoking and you won't know anything until they biopsy it. Try to stay positive and don't make any assumptions until you have all the facts. Good luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :) Well...first don't get ahead of yourself .....think positive. I know it is not me going through this so easy for me to say....huh! Just go to your specialist and let him make the decisions. They will tell you what is best for you. I did have some nodgels removed from my throat and they were not cancer. I am glad you quit smoking that is a GREAT thing. So, I would say you are probably more than likely benign. Think positive....and I will be praying for you. Good Luck!!! |
