Can alternative cancer treatments enhance a patient's chances of survival?

for example: MELATONIN, LAETRILE (Vitamin B17), SHARK CARTILAGE, OZONE THERAPY, ULTRAVIOLET BLOOD IRRADIATION

NB: When used as a compliment to conventional cancer treatments

I think the best alternative treatment is to supplement your medical treatment with naturopathic treatment. Naturopathic medicne will help you boost your immune system and help your organ detoxify you with chemicals introduced in your body. A higher chances of survival rate if you boost your immune system with natural products (NP) like vegetables, fruits and herbs. Try this site for Naturopathic consultaton, www.design2heal.com . This helped me, my friends and family get rid of our ailments. I am living a healthy body and lifestyle now. It is worth trying.

No.

No.

I do this for a living--investigate and research companies who make these claims. They get warning letters from the FDA and told to stop the promotions--sometimes charges are brought against the companies.

None of the claims they make are true. There is nothing out there in a supplement that can cure or prevent cancer. NOTHING.

If you want to check some of these companies out: http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning.htm

Considering the complete success rate of conventional treatments is only 3%-10% at best for most cancers, I don't see what someone would have to loose. The medical profession declared the "War on cancer" a failure anyways. I believe alternative treatments are effective. I know there is research to back many alt. treatments up, I just don't know were that info is off hand.

If it did wouldn't more people being going a diff route... and sure some do with hope in mind..

The mind is a very powerful thing, a positive attitude has been proven to help with most terminal illnesses, alternative therapy's may help but the belief they will help can be just as effective.

Both you and the person above who answered "no" to your question should read Mike Murray's How To Prevent and Treat Cancer With Natural Medicine, and Pat Quillen's Beating Cancer With Nutrition. These books are written by qualified medical experts and are full of valuable info and advice for cancer patients. Good luck and God bless!

If the medical profession can't cure it the alternative medicine will not.

If I get it one day I will not mentally give in to it and I have identified a must do project for that time.
I think this will help along with exercise, a good diet and sleep more than anything else.
I am 83, muscular through hard physical work and determined.

Best Wishes.

A few years ago, I had a college tutor who told us that she had battled with cancer. She was told her prognosis wasn't good. But then she started having reiki therapy, and now she swears by it. She's learnt to do it herself and she's very much into herbal treatment .

I'm a little bit skeptic about the whole energy healing thing, but then I've never had it.

I have not tried it, but who can say, if alternative medicine has no side effects then you wont lose anything by trying it. But watch out as there are a lot of sharks out there who's only aim is to sell you useless concoctions that are only going to make them a profit .

In medicine, nothing is definite and there are always exceptions. Alternative medicine may have cured certain patients but it won't work for everyone. Still, I would very much believe that conventional methods like radio and chemo therapy would offer a better chance of survival comparitively.

Anyhow, good luck and god bless

There is no positive evidences for alternate treatments curing cancer or patients surviving beyond the expected period. If it works, well it is good luck for all of us.

Even if any improvement is seen you should always checkup with your oncologist and have the tests done for for ensuring there is not recurrence of the disease. Because-

CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA

I work with cancer patients using entirely natural approaches. Whether I enhance their chances of survival? You can make up your own mind on that by clicking on "Dhaxem and Cancer", and on the examples of results, on the Dhaxem website.

no. there is no data that supports alternative treatments. Maybe you can get the FDA to approve a trial for one of these therapies, but good luck. If they were promising, one of the big drug companies would be pushing them.
