I have just recovered from campylobacter my son now has it some 10 days later how?

They believe I contracted mine while on holiday in Malta my son has not eaten the same is it possible he has the same or is it just the tummy bug?

Campylobactor is one of the most common causes of diahorrea. It is usually contracted from meat and more rarely water or unpasteurised milk.Symptoms develop 2-5days after eating the contaminated food and may include severe watery diahorrea.Usually clears up in a few days.To be certain what is causing it you need to have a sample tested through your GP.The main thing is to prevent dehydration by drinking lots of fluids.I had Campylobactor 2 years ago and can sympathise with you.I contracted it in a very well known chicken burger bar.My doctor thought it was in the chicken.Hope your son feels better soon.

if he has been in close contact with you then yes

The organism is not usually spread from person to person,so it's more than likely he just has a tummy bug.But i'd bleach the house though just in case! Door handles...toilet etc...Hope your both better soon x
