Do I have calcium deficiency?

For four months I have been going to therapy for both of my wrists and knees because two general physicans had diagnosed me with sprained tendons, but I went to a chiropractor (whom my mom has been going to for the last 9 years) last week and other than my discs being slighty out of place, he said I have calcium deficiency. When he uses his elbow to massage my back, the muscles are very tight and as a result, it's very painful but he says it helps to relax them. The left side of my neck and my left calf (which I've had cramps in every few months for a few years) are especially tight, and so I've started taking calcium supplements (tablets). What I want to know is do my symptoms point to calcium deficiency? Every doctor can diagnose something different from similar symptoms, so I just want some opinions. Also, if I do have calcium deficiency, could using my wrists/knees (which are still in pain) for a long time, such as holding something slightly heavy or walking long distances be bad?

There are bone density tests that Dr's can do to test for calcium deficiency.

Your body absorbs calcium when you walk, so I wouldn't stop walking, but don't push yourself so that your knees hurt bad. Just keep working out and taking calcium (I'd take a natural form that would absorb into the body - not the oyster shell stuff) and you should be able to go farther as time goes by. (Carrot juice has lots of good calcium.)

Well it all depends. I'm not sure if he did or not, but he was supposed to perform a variety of tests on you. For example, did he check your tendon reflexes? Do you feel any tingling sensation in your extremities? He's supposed to check for all of those before finally diagnosing you. I hope he did...because if not...you better watch out with those calcium supplements. It can cause kidney stones. As far as lifting something slightly heavy...regular weight bearing exercises can keep the calcium in your bones. Because once the calcium is lost, it cannot be replaced...unless you're taking supplements. So just take those, and exercise regularly and you'll be good! :)
