Leg cramps caused by calcium...what causes it?

I have a problem which is rare but heard of in which calcium causes rather than cures leg cramps. If I take a calcium supplement or other suplement with calcium in it I get horrible leg cramps. Last night I had 3 bowls of lentil soup and got horrible leg cramps. So this much I know. What I don't know is WHY ingesting too much calcium causes cramps in one leg (and magnesium in the other). Anyone in medicine, health, or sports...do you know why I get cramps from calcium and what I can do to fix it?

You also need increase you potassium because potassium and calcium mixed together are was said to help with cramps. At least that was what I was taught in sports med.
