Does Salt contain calcium?

My ND has used a technique to eliminate my allergies to calcium. I am supposed to avoid anything with calcium for 25 hours.

Hopefully salt does not contain any trace amounts of calcium because I just used some in my food.

As I understand it, salt is sodium chloride......

Table salt shouldn't have calcium, but if it's sea salt, it may not be pure sodium chloride, and might have some calcium salts. How the heck can you be allergic to calcium anyway?

There are many salts. Simple table salt is sodium chloride with no calcium. Calcium chloride is a common salt found in some water and some foods.

Please note that there cannot be an allergy to calcium. Allergens are all proteins, but the body can have weird sensitivities.

Table salt is highly refined NaCl --there's no calcium.

Sea Salt and other salt found in nature often contains CalciumChloride (CaCl).
