High caffeine intake?

To stay awake in class the past month, I've been using caffeine pills to keep me awake. I know it can have somewhat negative effects on my body after an extended period of use, but I'd like to know exactly what those effects are. I have a naturally high caffeine tolerance, so I usually take more than what would be recommended. I'll take 1500mg worth of caffeine in pills and energy drinks, yet I can still fall asleep at any point in time afterward. Is this considered a bad thing? In any case, I wouldn't mind using an alternative to caffeine. Anything that is either healthier or more potent, really. Thanks.

WTH?! You're taking 1500mg of caffeine a day?! Some of the strongest most potent thermogenic pills only have 600mg in a full dosage!

Caffiene pills can be very dangerous. Have you ever felt your heart racing after taking them? They put an awful strain upon your heart that it is not meant to take--along with your lungs as your breathing increases. Side effects can range from heart attack to hyperventilation. I would stop taking them as soon as possible. I have seen the awful effects these have upon people as an EMT. As far as an alternative, the only safe thing I can think of is plain getting more rest.
