Confused about caffeine??

Hello. I'm a 37 year old man, and yep, I'm getting a gut. I've always been a pretty thin person but my body is changing as I approach 40. I keep reading on the internet about how good caffeine is for losing weight. "Hey! Did you know that caffeine speeds up your metabolism and can help you burn fat?? Feel great and lose weight at the same time!"

"Wow!" I said to myself. I'd love to lose weight and feel great.
But wait! Then I read:

"Did you know that caffeine decreases the body's sensitivity to insulin, thus causing your body to lose the ability to burn fat? Decrease the risk of diabetes and lose weight by lowering your caffeine intake to zero or almost zero."

OK, so now I'm totally confused. So, if I take lots of caffeine everyday, I will become a thin fat person who is healthy, feels great and has diabetes!

What gives!?!?

i live with the believe that everything in moderation is good for you....

I am not sure myself. But I avoid caffeine because it is supposed to cause more cellulite.

caffeine isn't good for anyone=it just gets you more energized so you think you feel batter =a Dr will tell you to stay away from it even=you will just have to go to the drug store and ask there what you can use to help you lose weight =good luck

Being a true and devoted coffee drinker I would never use it to lose weight. Go to a low-fat diet for awhile and see what happens. As far as the coffee scare who cares. I am in love with my coffee it's the only way I can wake up and get something done in the morning!
