Anyone here ever give up caffeine? |
Feel better? Sure did and the change was impressive. Like you, I had been drinking coffee and taking caffeine regularly for more than 20 years. It took so much to give me a buzz off that stuff that I could literally drink two cups before going to sleep and have no trouble sleeping through the night. I drank 3-6 sodas a day for over 10 years. I have now quit drinking soda for about a year. I don't feel any better... I feel worse to be honest. theres also healthy alternatives that have caffeine...I drink tea and I feel good....lol, but I did stop drinking pop, and I'm very glad, non of that chemically full of sugar stuff in my body :) I haven't given up coffee in the morning but I gave up pop and I feel a little better. I replaced it with water and green tea but because it's been a short time, I can't really say it's made a dramatic difference. It saves money I guess. haha xD Noo... :) Starbucks has caffeine free options... don;t sell!!! hehe Everybody's different, but I gave up caffeine for a couple weeks when I started the Atkins diet - at the suggestion of Dr. Atkins - and I suppose I felt slightly better. But the problem was that it wasn't that much better - so I got back on it. I gave up caffeine about 2 months ago when I found out I was pregnant. I was drinking about 6 Diet Cokes a day. I gradually weaned myself from it (it took about 2 weeks) and I feel so good. I still miss the Diet coke and will take a few sips of my husbands every now and then but I sleep better at night and I feel as if I have more energy throughout the day. |
