Caffeine and Depression? |
Has anyone ever heard of a link between caffeine and depression? And if there is a link, is it that caffeine contributes or can cause depression? Anyone know of any links about this if it exsists? Any information would be great. many people with depression USE caffeine...and it just makes the situation worse. No but they make panic attacks even worse. i dont think there is such a thing because caffeine makes you happy and depression does not go straigt to google! I don't know if I have heard of a study on it but it seems when i did without caffeine for a while I got really depressed :( I don't think its with depression but some people that have panic disorders have a problem with caffeine because it makes them jittery. So if a person has depression and a panic disorder caffeine can make their symptoms stronger. Never heard of such a thing before. Hope not, I drink 10-12 cups a day of it! o my no if i am depressed its the other way around i need coffee and lots of it I've never been told to stop drinking caffeine and I've had depression/anxiety for 7 years. I know when I don't get caffiene that it worsens my depression because of the withdrawal symptoms of caffiene though, but i've decided to stop drinking it because I feel a lot better without it. In the past 4 days I've only had 2 drinks where normally I'll have more than 6. I feel a lot better just drinking juice and water everyday now with my depression, I don't know if there's a link between the two though, maybe just quitting the addiction and such. No,I've never heard of a link between caffeine and depression. From personal experience,I have found that it has a slight effect on lifting mood and increasing energy/alertness.It can cause increased anxiety if you have too much though. |
